AniCAMWhat is AniCAM?

As a complementary product to FlexoCAM for measuring film masks, fl exo plates and printed copy, AniCAM was developed for the flexographic printers where Quality Control of Anilox rollers, particularly the measurement of their cell volume, cell depth and wall width is needed. With the Zoom function to adjust the magnification for different screen counts the AniCAM is genuinely a unique product. AniCAM is supplied with three lenses that are interchangeable, taking appr. 20 seconds. Keep a record of the condition of your anilox rolls with their volume and other information archived. This will result in a potential reductions in press setup time, loss of production time and even material waste such as work-off ink.

Key Benefits of AniCAM

A very practical and easy to use tool that will ensure your anilox rolls are properly identified with volume measurement, screen count, screen angle, cell opening and wall measurements, all done in just a few minutes. Knowing the condition of the Anilox in the heart of your press, through proper identification and verification, gives increased assurance of the final printed result.

Being able to see if the cells are plugged or damaged with the AniCAM digital microscope will signifi cantly help to reduce costly waste or reprints.

Verifying the volume of a set of anilox rolls is essential for maintaining ink balance on press. Having a set of rolls that you know have similar volumes will reduce time consuming and costly ink strengthening and its associated work-off ink; it can reduce the need for ink extending and some work-off ink inventory.

All measurement information and images can be printed or exported for use in 3rd party software (like Excel or database programs) for comparison between historic and current information. You can now track the changes in volume of Anilox rolls and monitor their condition.

Having a graphical history of wear on the anilox rolls will allow you to plan, financially and in production, for roll replacement or refurbishment.

AniCAM is very portable, therefore measurements can be taken in the press room, the plate room or in the anilox storage area making it a very practical all round tool for all print departments.

Coaxial and Radial Light

The AniCAM is equipped with two light sources: Coaxial light is directed straight down onto the surface of the material and reflected back up the same path and onto the camera. It is essential for the Autofocus and readings.

Light Sources

The Radial Light is an 8-LED lighting system that is designed to radiate the light into the cells, which leads to an optimum illumination for accurate readings.

Cell MeasurementWhat can be measured?

AniCAM enables you to measure:

  • Average Cell Volume
  • Cell Frequency in lpi or lpcm
  • Cell Opening Diameter
  • Cell Wall Width
  • Cell Depth
  • Cell Angles

Electronic Archiving and Remote Viewing

Images taken by the AniCAM can be archived and emailed. They are stored in their proprietary format which contains all measured values needed for retrieval and evaluation. Remote sites only need the AniCAM Remote Viewer software to view the images for analysis (available free of charge from www.troika-systems.com).

Easy to use and portable

Although the AniCAM is a very professional instrument, it’s operation is really simple: For volume readings place the portable AniCAM camera on top of your Anilox roll, select the appropriate setup and click in the Cell Profile button to get a full reading. The image will then be transferred to an Analysis window, which simultaneously displays the info page with the volume and depth readings. You simply enter the customer name, roll id and operator name. The system generates a report form which can be printed or exported to a database or spreadsheet program for further analysis such as your own reporting method or for anilox roll wear.
