Provident Group named US Distributor for Troika QC Instruments
Troika Systems Limited, Highworth, a UK company at the forefront of innovative print-based quality control products, has announced the appointment of The Provident Group as its US distributor for the FlexoCAM and AniCAM instruments for the flexographic printing and converting industries.
The Provident Group, based in Concord, New Hampshire, is well known throughout the North American flexographic community for the provision of unique and innovative products. The company provides a wealth of pressroom products including patented doctor blade technology, defect marking systems, bar code verification tools and anilox roller cleaning products.
Commenting on the appointment, Phil Hall, managing director of Troika Systems, said: “We are delighted to have teamed up with the Provident Group. They are a well established organisation with very strong application and process knowledge in the flexographic industry. Most of the major flexographic printers in the US already work with Provident, which can only be good for the introduction of our quality control products.”
Commenting on the new relationship with Troika Systems, Dave Allen of the Provident Group, said: “FlexoCAM and AniCAM represent significant advancements for measuring and controlling the flexographic printing process. You can’t control what you can’t measure. Now for the first time there are affordable tools available to measure the two most critical pieces of the flexo puzzle which are dot size and profile on the printing plate and anilox cell volume. We see a tremendous need for these products in the US where flexo printers are continuously looking for ways to improve quality and push the capabilities of the flexo process to new levels. We are extremely excited to be working with these new products”.
The FlexoCAM product appeals to both tradeshops and to printers, with its automatic measurement of dots sizes on film/masks, plates and print. Included is the amazing 3D DOT PROFILE that shows the actual dot shape including relief depth and shoulder angle. Plate producers and printers have never had the ability to analyse dots to this level of detail before.
The system is portable and works on plates both flat and in-the-round. The ability to work accurately on mounted plates and continuous engraved rolls also sets FlexoCAM apart. No other company offers such a complete tool for eliminating errors in prepress. FlexoCAM provides definitive information helping eliminate finger pointing between the printer, ink, plate and anilox suppliers.
AniCAM has been developed to analyze the condition of anilox cylinders, and to accurately and repeatably measure anilox cell volume. Similar to FlexoCAM, AniCAM provides automatic measurements on cell openings, wall thickness and cell depth. It is designed to work with anilox rolls produced in a wide variety of line counts and cell depths.
“AniCAM closes the quality control loop within the flexographic printing process,” said Troika’s Phil Hall. “Our FlexoCAM product monitors the quality of the plate, and now AniCAM offers printers the opportunity to easily monitor the condition of the anilox roll.”
